PERFECT size cakes for Tea Time! Highest quality pan!GetitrightNordic Ware Platinum Collection. This is from the finest line of Nordic Ware baking pans and fits a small toaster type oven, too. (9 inch diameter.) Pan sections take only 1/4 cup batter, NOT 1/2 cup as stated on Amazon! You get TINY cakes, so you might want to take advantage of the "buy 4 get one free" on this item on Amazon. (4 pans easily fit in a regular oven for baking all at once.) These are delightful presentation cakes that impress everyone! We heat the pan as the oven heats, and use food release spray inside the molds (tho this pan is nonstick) then cleanup is a snap - with a brush and hot water (NO SOAP) - then set them in the still-warm oven to dry for the next time. My favorite cake is lemon with a simple lemon juice and glazing sugar (or powdered sugar) icing.Note: Professional bakers say you will not ruin the surface of the non stick interior, and will get excellent release, IF you spray the pan after it is HOT. "Glazing sugar" is powdered sugar WITHOUT the grainy cornstarch and is available from Bakers Supply sites, like Bakers Catalog dot com.
Haven't used it yetDutchWomanBought this for Valentine's day to make some treats for my loved ones, but didn't end up using it. It looks nice and sturdy and feels heavy-duty, and the cardboard cover has a picture of a really delectable treat obviously made in this baking pan. Emailed Nordic Ware to try and get the recipe for that treat, but never got a response from them. At its widest the pan is barely 9 inches in diameter and it's about 2 inches high, so whatever heart-shaped treats you end up baking in this pan will be quite small. But the description does say mini hearts. I found a recipe somewhere for making conversation hearts, not the hard candies, but little cakes, and I plan to use this pan for that purpose in the future.
Great heavyweight!Susan StutevilleI have baked quiche to scones in these pans and no matter what I bake everything just slips right out. No fighting with knives digging along the sides to release my goodies from the pan. I flip the pan over and out it comes the food.
