I've owned one of these pans for at least 15 years and it's never failed me so I purchased two more and a couple of other sizes a few years ago and they all work beautifully. I have (had, I pitched them) some of the non-stick, dark pans and the cheesecakes do not come out as well as in the Kaiser tin pans even though I adjust temps and cooking times accordingly. My cheesecakes have always gotten rave reviews and I credit the Kaiser pans for making it easy to impress. Truly, I have no clue what the issue is with closing these pans. You can't do better as far as I'm concerned. Unless it's a non-coated professional Chicago Metallic classic 9 inch springform pan which I have not been able to find. I don't think they make it.

You get what you pay for with this springform pan. I had to open and close the side buckle several times before it closed properly.Another thing is I don't like the crisscross pattern at the bottom. That's not how a springform pan should look like. You don't see pro bakeware with bottoms like that.I ended up giving it away and went for the Daddio's Cheesecake Pan. The bottom is removable. It's a regular cake pan with a removable bottom. That makes sense. It's not worth buying unless you're on a super-duper tight budget.
