I bought the Wilton Puzzle Cake Transportation Silicone Cupcake Set a couple of years ago. I saw it in the store, and just thought it was super cute and so versatile. I am a great baker, but not a good cake decorator, so I was excited to find something that looked easy enough that I could actually pull off a professional-looking cake for my child's birthday parties. I was not disappointed in the results. The first cake I made was the rocket ship, at my child's request, and it turned out REALLY cute! I wish I had used the Wilton recommended colors, and it would have been even better, but I was happy with the results nonetheless. I have seen other "cupcake cakes" that just looked awkward, but the design of this particular set is so ingenious that you don't really know it's a cupcake cake unless you look closely. The silicone cupcake molds are made in several different shapes, and they are made to fit together like a puzzle, depending on the cake you're wanting to make. The included instructions give you all the guidelines for making the cake and give the recommended Wilton colors for each piece too. The beauty of this set is that it makes 3 totally different cakes, so you can use it several times. If you're creative, you can easily figure out ways to arrange the molds to make different things as well--my dad and I are going to make a fire engine at some point. The only gripe I have about the set is that the liners are difficult to clean. I had always heard that silicone was super easy to clean, but these things are not. You have to really scrub them. They are dishwasher safe, but you have to get all the cake off first or the dishwasher won't clean them either. That is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars on this product. Still, I would totally recommend these! So fun, and easy to use!

Very cute idea. Here's what I like:* Individual cupcakes are nice for serving. No cutting of the cake required.* Different configurations of cupcakes render a whole new cake (i.e. train, rocket, dump truck). Makes for a great investment! What I don't like:* Silicone molds don't hold their shape very well. (This is esp. notable in the square and diamond shapes.)* If you overfill or have any sort of sloped rack in your oven, the batter spills during baking, making the cupcake shape imperfect / messy.

If a bit overpriced, for its simplicity, this "cake" pan was definitely a hit. Basically, its just a bunch of differently shaped Cupcake cups. You form them into the shape you want, and then pour batter in and bake. The cake rises and in most cases joins together to form a mostly even cake top.The neat thing about it is the modular setup allows for a high reusability. We made a rocket ship for my 3 year old, and are going to make a train for my 2 year old. Next year who knows... a truck, a dinosaur, a recreation of the two towers of Minas Tirith and Barad-Ur? Perhaps. So, its a little over priced, but that is offset by the fact that you can re-use it over and over again, which saves you on buying other shaped tins for followup birthdays.
