my uses: baking, molding entremets, jellies, cutting cakesPROS: heavy duty, shape hard to deformNOTES: As previous reviewer said ring is not smooth, raised bump at welding (but since it's on the outside of the ring does not affect use of ring, just aesthetics... inside of ring is smooth at welded junction.

this works excellently to cut small pie crusts. Keeps my pies uniform and professional looking. I'd buy again for sure.

This is a real sturdy, well constructed cake ring, especially for aluminum. It will take some real strenth to bend these things. Ahhh, the wonders of quality... And it was not bent out of shape on arrival, thanks Amazon. I will be using this to cut sheet cakes, to build/mold a cake, a la francaise, and to cut pastry for my 5 inch tart pans. The only tiny con is that it is not one smooth piece. The metal they used to weld it has built up on the outside upon cooling. Again, a minor caveat, but thought I should mention it. Still, great ring, great price. Enjoy!
